Dennis was only a small boy in Uganda when LRA armed fighters kidnapped him and……

Dennis was only a small boy in Uganda when LRA armed fighters kidnapped him and forced him to endure, and commit, terrible atrocities. Two years of this hellish existence devastated him, and somehow, by God’s grace, this young man found the strength to run away.
He was reunited with his family, but the memories haunted him. But one day he received the Book of Hope. He listened closely to the OneHope team and read about the love of Jesus in this book. Dennis chose to follow Christ as his Savior. The anger slowly began to seep away as the love of Christ began to fill his heart.
“It is no longer important got me to keep thinking on those other things that happened to me in the bush,” Dennis says today. “I have forgiven those people… now I have received Christ, and I know that God has forgiven me.”

In Uganda, a high school boy named Julius was disrespectful, disorganized and hostile toward his community, school and family.

Then he received the Book of Hope, and he was curious to know what was inside the book’s bright covers, because he felt, deep down, that what he lacked was hope.  He had no hope for the future.  He read the book completely, and chose to accept Christ as Savior, and today everything has turned around for him!

He excels in school. His parents are proud of him because he is well-behaved. He even serves as an interpreter in his church.  “All the things I used to do to make trouble, I don’t do them anymore,” Julius says. “The Book of Hope and my church have taught me how to behave and how to share my faith.”
